Terms of Service
Version dated 16 October 2026
These are the terms that apply when you create an account with A Good Service. They are written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, ask us before you sign up.
By creating an account you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the venue you are setting up.
1. Who we are
A Good Service is run by Harriot Berry, ABN 18 545 751 699, based in New South Wales, Australia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that business, and "you" means the person creating the account and the venue they represent.
You can reach us at hello@agoodservice.com.
2. What the service is
A Good Service is a web app, with a companion app for managers and their team members, for hospitality venues to write pre-shift briefings and quizzes, send them to staff as personal links by text message, see who has opened and confirmed them, and show a summary on a screen in the venue.
Staff do not need an account. They tap the link in their text. Managers use the app on the web or in the companion app.
Some features connect to other services on your instruction: pulling a roster from your rostering system, reading a roster photo or a bookings screenshot, and showing the weather for your suburb.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 and using the service for a business. Give us accurate details and keep them current. Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for everything done under your login.
The person who creates a venue is its master admin. They can add other managers to the venue, make them admins, and remove them. Each manager has their own login. Removing a manager's login does not delete the venue.
4. Your staff and their details
To send briefings you add your staff's names and mobile numbers. By adding a number you confirm that you are entitled to share it with us and that the person has agreed to receive work-related texts from your venue through our service.
Every text we send goes out on your behalf and only when a manager at your venue presses Send. We do not text your staff for any other reason and we never market to them.
Remove anyone who leaves your venue or asks not to receive texts. If a staff member contacts us directly, we will pass the request to you and, if you do not act on it, remove them ourselves.
5. Your content
Everything you put into the service, including briefings, quiz questions, notes, photos of dishes, roster photos and bookings screenshots, stays yours. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people you send it to, and process it to provide the service, which includes sending a roster photo or bookings screenshot to an AI provider to read the text out of it.
Only upload what you have the right to use. Bookings screenshots and reservation notes often contain guest names and requests: you are responsible for using that information lawfully and for keeping briefing content appropriate for the staff who read it.
6. Free trial and payment
Every new venue starts with a free trial. We ask for a card at sign-up, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. The trial length and prices are shown in the app and at checkout, in Australian dollars, or in New Zealand dollars for venues in New Zealand.
When the trial ends, the plan is charged monthly, in advance, unless you cancel before then. Each month includes a set number of texts, and the trial includes its own set number; both are shown in the app. If you need more, you can buy a text pack in the app. A pack is paid for once, its texts never expire, and nothing is ever bought automatically. Texts are not available to venues in New Zealand.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. If a payment fails we will let you know and may pause the service until it is fixed. If we change our prices, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change applies to you.
7. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time from Settings. Your access continues until the end of the month you have paid for and you will not be charged again.
If you cancel, we keep your venue and its data for 90 days so you can pick up where you left off. After that it is deleted, as if you had deleted it yourself. We email the venue's master admin a week before.
We do not refund the unused part of a month, and unused texts, whether included in the month or bought in a pack, do not convert to a refund. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Deleting your venue
A master admin can delete the venue from Settings. That removes the venue's staff list, briefings, quizzes, photos and settings, and cancels its subscriptions. The record of what was sent is cleared within seven days. We keep invoices and payment records for as long as tax law requires.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to send anything unlawful, abusive or misleading, or to send texts to people who have not agreed to receive them. Do not resell the service, try to get around usage limits, probe our security, or copy the service. If you do, we may suspend or close your account, and we will tell you why.
10. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the service running and improving, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Whether a text arrives depends on mobile networks and the recipient's phone, which are outside our control. We may change or retire features, and we will tell you about significant changes in advance where we can.
11. Our responsibility to you
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect loss, such as a briefing that was sent but not read, and our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. The Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing here tries to.
12. Ownership
The service, its design, code and name belong to us. Your content belongs to you. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
13. Privacy
How we handle personal information, including your staff's details, is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will email the venue's master admin at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Using the service after that date means you accept the new terms. The current version is always at www.agoodservice.com/terms.
15. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and any dispute will be dealt with in the courts there.
